This pocket features the ITW Nexus® buckle closure system, which is superior to conventional velcro in that velcro can lose its grip in wet environments. Both the QASM buckle and the bottom strap can be removed and hidden inside the pouch for faster magazine access (open top).
  
The LAHYCO composite fabric used in the main parts of the pouch is hydrophobic, allowing greater mobility and lighter weight in wet environments. LAHYCO fabric is also partially flame retardant and offers protection against cuts, wear and tear.
